The Center for the Promotion of Health and Mental Health Well-being conducts impactful empirical studies on promoting the physical and mental health of individuals, organizations, communities and society.

Our research teams comprised of faculty working with doctoral, graduate and undergraduate students study such challenges and issues as substance abuse and addictions, women’s health, homelessness, and trauma.

Mission

Objectives

  1. To generate and disseminate knowledge that informs social work practice, enhances the delivery of social services and influences state and national policy in the health/mental health fields;
  2. To provide critical methodological and substantive training for graduate students in the health/mental health fields;
  3. To assist NCSSS faculty to achieve their highest professional and scientific development in the health/mental health fields;
  4. To increase the visibility of NCSSS and CUA through professional publications, presentations at professional meetings and other scholarly related activities.
