In partnership with the Departments of Global Studies, NCSSS co-hosted a screening for the campus community of Mind U: Mental Health in College Sports on February 3. The documentary, directed by Glenn Østen Anderson, Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in Media Studies at Catholic University, shines a light on the mental health challenges faced by collegiate athletes, a topic of growing concern across higher education and athletics.

Recent MSW graduate and Senior Associate Athletic Director, Meghan McDonogh, along with current BSW senior Mary Rojack, were featured in this documentary and supported this event, which brought the message of advocacy for mental health services on college campuses to the CUA community. Rojack, currently completing her generalist practice field placement within the Athletic Department, has spent the past academic year building mental health initiatives and resources for the student athlete population on campus. Through this screening and ongoing engagement with the student athlete population, NCSSS hopes to improve access to services and education about mental health. The interdisciplinary collaboration behind the screening reflects NCSSS's commitment to engaging the broader campus community in conversations about mental health and well-being.
